"ASTRA" Argal new range of AODD pump is manufactured with port sizes starting from ¼" up to 2". This series has been engineered with a new construction concept widening its application in new fields.
"ASTRA" internal volume of Diaphragm chamber has been engineered larger than competitor pumps, allowing for same performance the use of an "ASTRA" smaller pump size, or alternatively on same competitor pump size to reduce the diaphragm strokes having as result less vibration, less noise and less wear and tear of its components.
"ASTRA" air valve has been specially engineered enabling the use of this series in new fields such as dosing, and feeding painting spraying guns which needs an accurate flow & pressure of the pumped liquid.
Acting on the air valve regulator knob allows to set the flow on the suitable duty point even with high viscosity liquids and liquids with solids in suspension, with an air consumption reduction and a consequent energy saving reducing the end user manufacturing costs.
Therefore "ASTRA" Argal AODD pumps allow of:
All pumps are preset for these functions, the connections of which are lodged in a technical panel placed near the external air vent.
The plastic pump casing and manifold construction materials are Polypropylene and E-CTFE. The E-CTFE is a Fluorine Polymer with the highest mechanical resistance among all thermoplastic injection molded materials. The mechanical resistance characteristics of both materials are further strengthened with fiberglass and carbon fibers respectively.
"ASTRA" plastic pumps are engineered to be completely immerged in aggressive liquids.
"ASTRA" metallic range has 3 alternatives: Aluminum, 316 Stainless Steel and Food Grade Stainless Steel complying with USA "FDA" directives.
All "ASTRA" series are "ATEX", while the "DXA" (including the plastic version) complies with "ATEX II 2/2GD" Class2 - Zone 1" directives.
NEW REGULATING SYSTEM
In order to provide the range of ASTRA pumps a broader functionality, we have introduced a bi-directional valve in the distribution system which regulates the air flow in the diaphragm chamber both in the pressurization phase and in the discharge phase.
Normally, in double diaphragm pumps, the air flow is regulated only by a conventional capacity valve applied directly to the pneumatic feeding mouth whereas the out flow from the diaphragm chamber occurs instantly and uncontrollably.
During regular operations this solution causes cyclical drops in pressure and an impulsive flow which increases the risk of unwanted ramming.
The ARGAL system, completely integrated into the pump's central control body, instead enables the operator to obtain a perfect balance of the air flows both in the air charging and discharging phase and to adapt the pump to the performance requirements, distributing a still impulsive flow but one with extremely contained pressure peaks and falls.
This function is definitely the distinctive characteristic of the ASTRA range of ARGAL pumps, which, together with the specific high performance (No. air liters / liters of pumped product) and therefore low energy consumption, make this unique product on the market, undoubtedly a new point of reference.
