McCrometer’s FPI Mag (Full Profile Insertion) flow meter, now offers forward and reverse flow measurement. The Model 394L FPI Mag flow meter provides bi-directional measurement, which is important in many municipal water treatment, distribution and storage applications. The most common applications include: storage tanks, water selling or sharing, multiple water sources and ring main distribution systems. In addition to locations where water is known to flow in both directions, the meter helps users with complex, problematic piping configurations. With a compact design and easy hot tap installation, the Model 394L is suited for challenging applications with large or irregular piping. It comes standard with an L-Series converter that is calibrated to provide precise real time indication of flow and the totalized flow volume in both forward and reverse directions. The flow meter is packaged in a heavy-duty 316 stainless steel sensor body for maximum structural integrity. The sensor iscoated with a NSF certified 3M fusion-bonded epoxy coating for operational longevity. The meter is available for line sizes from 10cm to 3.5m and rivals the performance of a full bore electromagnetic flow meter. With precise measurement, it features accuracy of ±1% of reading ± 0.009 m/s stability from +0.09 to +6m/s velocity range in both forward and reverse directions. The flow sensor comes pre-calibrated from the company’s NIST traceable Calibration Lab and requires no recalibration in the field. Edited by Constanze Schmitz
