International Powder & Bulk Solids Processing 2012:

For its tenth anniversary, China’s largest trade show for powder and bulk solids technology can look forward to a very special birthday present: an amended name. Adding “Processing” to the name will even better reflect the unique proposition of the event in the future. China’s No. 1 “one-stop-shop” for all industries focusing on mixing, conveying, milling, screening, andgranulating, the International Powder & Bulk Solids Processing Conference & Exhibition 2012 will take place at the INTEX exhibition center Shanghai from October 17–19, 2012. In 2012, the organizers – the Chinese Society of Particuology, NürnbergMesse China, and Worldwide Exhibitions Service – look back on a decade of a booming Powder & Bulk business. Many birthday guests are expected, among them international key players like Hosokawa, DMN Westinghouse, Kaeser, and Malvern. A highly informative supporting program will accompany the anniversary event. 160 exhibitors and over 6,000 visitors are expected on 2,400 m2.

The prospects for a successful International Powder & Bulk Solids Processing Conference & Exhibition (IPB) 2012 are good: Thriving sectors in China like construction, car manufacturing, and computers all rely on chemical inputs. At this rate, China could bypass the United States to become the world’s largest chemicals market in the next two years, says the accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers. In their latest market report, they state that the demand for specialty chemicals is rising exponentially, and they recommend that multinational companies take advantage of this shifting chemicals focus to enter into profitable business ventures.

Evian Gu, Project Manager at NürnbergMesse China, is convinced that this excellent outlook will give a boost to the IPB 2012: “Currently, we expect a 10 percent increase in net space compared to the last show. This very favorable trend clearly shows that the IPB has become established as the leading show for powder and bulk solids processing in China – not only for chemicals but also for many other industries.”

In 2011, more than 6,200 experts came to Shanghai from 23 different countries and regions all over the world. Visitors from industries like chemicals (30.9 percent), mechanical engineering (11.3 percent), pharmaceuticals (8.4 percent), food and feed (8.3 percent), and mining (5.1 percent) came to tap into new business opportunities and gain exclusive insights into the flourishing Asian powder and bulk market.
