Tea manufacturer selects modular piping

For the compressed air distribution plant at the new factory in Swarzedz, Poland, the British tea manufacturer Twinings has selected extruded aluminum modular pipes.

TESEO srl, specializing in the design, production and sale of aluminum piping and fittings for the construction of distribution plants for compressed air, vacuum, nitrogen and other fluids under pressure, modular manifolds for machinery and pneumatic panels, accessories such as benches, carriages and swiveling arms for the installation of production and assembly lines, has supplied its modular piping system to the Twinings plant in Swarzedz, Poland, built in the second half of 2010 and commissioned in early 2011.

In detail, the scope of supply to the British tea manufacturer included 700 meters of HBS 110 profiles for compressed air distribution in the main loop and compressor room, 2,000 meters of HBS 50 piping for secondary lines, and over 300 meters of HBS 32 and AP 25 profiles for the connection of machinery and auxiliary services. “We selected TESEO piping for the many benefits they offer, first of all easy plant modifications and upgrades”, said Albert Openshaw, chief engineer, Twinings. By virtue of their modular concept, TESEO pipes can be assembled without any conventional threading or welding operations, as all parts can be easily jointed through specific clamps fastened by means of Allen screws, so that any distribution system can be modified very quickly.

“Compared to other types of solutions, with TESEO systems it is easier to connect machinery and equipment in progress, so we could set up the new plant in subsequent stages - explained Albert Openshaw -. A key factor for the selection of these pipes was time: to build the same circuit using welded iron pipes, as originally planned, it would have taken several months”.

The Twinings management expressed great satisfaction for the quality of service received in the pre- and post-sales phases. “TESEO offered effective support for the design and dimensioning of the distribution network, fast delivery and excellent assistance during installation”, added Albert Openshaw. In this respect, the TESEO UK subsidiary was effectively supported by the headquarters in Italy, both for the training of onsite installation crew and for assistance in the initial stages of installation.
