Communication System for networking switching devices

Eaton’s Moeller Business SmartWire-Darwin technology, that received the TR Award 2010 , offers an innovative communication system for networking switching devices which allows the implementation of new kinds of switching cabinet concepts. The previous conventional control wiring for switchgear is thus now replaced by the communication system. As well as the control wiring, this also eliminates the need for the I/O modules that were previously required. This elimination of both wiring and I/O modules also means that the switching cabinet sizes can be considerably reduced, which consequently results in benefits for planning, designing and installation. The enhanced diagnostics options as well as the simple exchangeability and expandability are additional benefits.
