Memosens offers contactless energy and data transfer between electrochemical sensors and transmitters. The built-in intelligence allows sensor-related data to be saved and evaluated directly in the sensor. Memosens can be used with all process control and asset management systems.

The inductive Memosens connector system allows for easy handling of sensors, also under the most adverse conditions – the system can even be connected under water. The connectors are metal-free. Perfect galvanic isolation enables disturbance-free data transfer, unaffected by ground potential. Connection of a solution ground or equipotential bonding (EB) is not required.
In addition to digital pH/ORP measurement, Memosens technology is available for conductivity and oxygen parameters.

Open to advantage
As an open industry standard, Memosens is being further developed in association with the Swiss company Endress+Hauser as a common platform for inductive, contactless connector systems – supported by sensor manufacturers such as Hamilton Bonaduz. This cooperation means that users are no longer restricted to proprietary digital systems but can select from several sensor and device suppliers. A Memosens seal of approval guarantees quality and compatibility.

For all situations
Whether for pH measurement and ORP, conductivity, or dissolved oxygen, the comprehensive Memosens range from Knick offers complete solutions for all requirements – all the way to the complex Protos measuring system with unique functional diversity.

For those who primarily prefer more compact measuring points, the new, affordable MemoRail complete range offers an especially economical alternative for standard applications such as
–    drinking water
–    wastewater, sewage plants
–    aquaria, fish farming, greenhouses
–    biochemistry
–    rinsing equipment
–    car wash systems
–    water treatment plants/equipment

In addition, the space-saving solutions are naturally ideally suited for installation in restricted spaces such as switch cabinets, fermenters, or ships.

The digital plug & measure package
The innovative and compact complete solutions are based on the newly-developed MemoRail analyzer in a modular housing only 12.5 mm wide. In combination with the MemoSuite Basic software, they allow for trouble-free measurement of pH value, conductivity, or oxygen with pre-calibrated Memosens sensors. The use of these pre-calibrated sensors renders a complex display on the transmitter superfluous, as they are simply replaced on site.

MemoRail devices themselves can be simply configured via DIP switches and feature integrated LED sensor displays. The process measuring value and temperature are made available via two standard signal current outputs 4-20 mA, which can be transferred floating to all common PLCs.
MemoRail is available in two power supply variants: a 24 V DC version which can be connected either directly or via DIN railbus and a VariPower version for 90 … 230VAC/DC.

The MemoSuite Basic software, part of the basic package, enables measurement with Memosens sensors and MemoRail with a PC or control system. If direct operation with Knick pre-calibrated sensors is not intended, a calibration of the sensor can also be undertaken at a PC in your own lab by using the MemoLink interface converter.

The Expanded Memosens Compact Solution
Knick offers an expanded MemoRail package deal for all applications in which comprehensive database and diagnostic functions are required in addition to simple measurement and calibration. The included MemoSuite Advanced software contains all required features.
The hardware is identical to the previous MemoRail Basic product.

The MemoLink interface converter allows to connect a Memosens sensor to a PC via USB. This enables the user to access the Memosens sensor, pre-calibrate it, or read out saved data.

The PortaSim MS Simulator serves to check the measuring device:  the sensor is disconnected and, in its place, the simulator is attached to the measuring device. PortaSim MS can be set to pH, conductivity, or oxygen and then simulates measuring values, temperatures, glass impedance etc. as required – as well as broken glass, self-test, or error messages. In this simple way, it checks whether the transmitter is displaying or transferring the data correctly and therefore calculating the correct data.
