The latest firmware version 1.04 of smartLink HW-PN from Softing Industrial Automation makes integrating field devices into digital maintenance systems easier than ever. The gateway now fully supports Emerson AMS Device Manager and ABB Field Information Manager (ABB FIM), enabling seamless access to PROFINET and PROFIBUS devices - independent of controllers or control systems.
With its OPC UA-based FDI communication server, smartLink HW-PN delivers standardized and secure device and diagnostic data, allowing central, efficient, and vendor-independent plant asset management. The update also extends compatibility with modern components, including the Pepperl+Fuchs APL Switch PA Proxy, paving the way for hybrid process networks and Ethernet-APL architectures.
