This range of smooth bore shaft collars in 316-grade stainless steel meets the demanding needs of food processing, medical and pharmaceutical applications. Food and drug processing facilities demand sanitized environments requiring the regular use of cleaning solutions, hot water and high-pressure sprays, with significant attention given to the elimination of both microscopic and particle level contaminants. These processes require equipment impervious to corrosive acids and salts often found in both raw materials and wash down solutions. 316-grade stainless steel includes more molybdenum than other grades and offers higher resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments. The shaft collars are available in one- and two-piece clamp-style designs with bore sizes from 1/8” to 3” in the inch series and 3mm to 50mm in the metric series. Clamp-style collars do not mar the shaft, provide higher holding power, and are more easily adjustable when compared to set screw type shaft collars.
