Festo has introduced a hygienic-design electric drive solution that combines its EPRF electric cylinder with the EMMH stainless-steel servomotor. Intended for food, packaging and pharmaceutical applications, the system is supplied as a coordinated package including motor, cable and drive components to simplify integration into hygiene-critical machinery. The solution is designed for production environments where cleanability, corrosion resistance and reliable operation are essential. Both the EPRF electric cylinder and EMMH servomotor feature housings made from 316L stainless steel and carry an IP69K protection rating, enabling use in applications exposed to intensive cleaning procedures and harsh operating conditions.
For temperatures from −10 °C to +60 °C
The coordinated design of the components reduces engineering effort by providing a complete electric drive system from a single supplier. The matching motor cable, servo motor and actuator are intended to support straightforward installation and system integration while maintaining consistent performance across the drive chain. The EPRF electric cylinder offers motion speeds of up to 1 m/s and is specified for operation in ambient temperatures ranging from −10 °C to +60 °C. Combined with the EMMH servomotor, the system is intended to deliver precise and dynamic electric motion while addressing the hygienic requirements commonly encountered in food handling, packaging lines and pharmaceutical production equipment.
The stainless-steel drive package provides machine builders and plant operators with an electric automation option for applications requiring washdown capability, corrosion resistance and hygienic equipment design.
