Teledyne FLIR has expanded the capabilities of its ADGiLE™ automated gas emissions monitoring platform, extending its use beyond methane detection to applications involving ammonia, ethylene, hydrocarbons and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The system combines optical gas imaging (OGI), detection analytics and incident management tools to provide continuous monitoring of industrial assets and potential emission sources.
Cooled an uncooled cameras available
ADGiLE, short for Autonomous Detection of Gas Leaks and Emissions, can be configured with different camera technologies depending on the application. Uncooled cameras support methane monitoring, while cooled cameras are available for broader hydrocarbon and VOC detection. The system can also combine thermal and visual imaging to provide additional site awareness.
For large facilities, optional pan-tilt functionality allows a single installation to monitor multiple process areas and equipment. An ATEX-rated housing is available for pan-tilt deployments in hazardous areas.
Avoiding false alarms
Detection software analyses gas signatures across successive image sequences while taking environmental conditions, including wind speed, rain and temperature differential, into account. This approach helps to distinguish genuine emission events from conditions that may otherwise trigger false alarms.
The platform includes live monitoring views, incident replay, historical event records and graphical data presentation. Operators can access the system through web or mobile devices, while text-based alerts can link directly to specific incidents for remote evaluation and response
