The need for ever greater precision and sensitivity in analytical procedures means that the demands in terms of environmental conditions are becoming ever more exacting. For example, a normal laboratory atmosphere contains approximately 300,000 – 500,000 particles per cubic foot. These particles have a certain chemical composition that may invalidate ongoing research results or interfere with measurement results. They also lead to unwanted physical effects in production and research processes. One simple, cost-efficient solution is to store samples in clean room conditions.

Table-top and floor-standing versions available

Spetec's CleanBoy clean room station makes it possible to store samples in clean room conditions and create the optimum conditions for highly sensitive measurements in the field of elemental analysis. It brings a practically particle-free atmosphere straight to any workplace where it is needed. Cleanness in the technical sense means classified clean room conditions. The "CleanBoy" clean room station is available as a floor-standing or table-top version. It is easy to assemble and is immediately ready to use without further installation work and at only a low investment cost. It consists of a SuSi (Super Silent) or basic size 75 series laminar flow module and a support frame manufactured from anodized aluminum profile sections. On the tabletop, it is possible to work under class 5 clean room conditions. This is true for both the CleanBoy Mini (table-top version) and CleanBoy Maxi (floor-standing version).

The Spetec CleanBoy clean room station with the SuSi series of laminar flow modules are remarkable for their extremely low noise emissions. The main filter is housed in a filter cartridge that is screwed to the module. As a result, the filter can be replaced very easily from below. Air is taken in from the ambient air via a pre-filter and then filtered through a high-performance filter before flowing across the workstation as a laminar airflow. Laminar means that the strata of air flow in parallel. This laminar air flow is possible at an air speed of 0.45 m/sec., which is slightly less than wind force 1. The station is equipped with a type H 14 filter. This has a filtration efficiency of 99.995 %. This means that the filter captures at least 99.995 % of all particles of a size of 0.12 μm (as per MPPS). The filtration efficiency is approx. 99.9995 % for particles with a size of 0.3 μm. Thanks to the use of the H 14 filter, the CleanBoy has an isolation factor of 104. This means that the air quality in the clean room station is at least 10,000 times better than that of the ambient air.
