Teledyne Gas and Flame Detection has introduced the FREEDOM range of fixed gas detectors for industrial monitoring applications. The portfolio comprises three models, FREEDOM GP, FREEDOM XP and FREEDOM Xi, which share a common electronic architecture intended to simplify servicing, standardize components and help reduce total cost of ownership.
Designed for oil and gas facilities, utilities, water treatment plants, laboratories and other industrial environments, the detectors combine gas monitoring with Bluetooth-based configuration and maintenance capabilities. Using the Teledyne Gas and Flame SYNC (GF Sync) mobile application, users can configure devices, perform calibration procedures and access diagnostic functions directly from a mobile device. The software also supports automatic certificate generation for documentation and compliance activities.
According to Teledyne, the platform incorporates cartridge replacement under power, allowing maintenance activities to be performed in hazardous areas while maintaining operational continuity. Visual indication is provided through multicolor displays and peripheral LEDs that communicate normal operating conditions, fault states and alarm events. Within the range, the FREEDOM Xi model is intended for demanding operating environments, while the FREEDOM XP model is designed for use in explosive atmospheres and carries SIL2/SC3 High Demand certification. The FREEDOM family supports a range of detection technologies to address different industrial gas monitoring requirements.
