Effective at the end of the Annual Meeting on May 6, 2011, Dr. Kurt Bock becomes the new Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of BASF SE. He succeeds Dr. Juergen Hambrecht, who has been Chairman since 2003 and is now retiring. Kurt Bock (52) started his career at BASF in the Finance department in Ludwigshafen, Germany, in 1985. He was named to BASF's Board of Executive Directors as Chief Financial Officer in 2003 and since 2007 he was also Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of BASF Corporation based in New Jersey. He is married and has three children. BASF is a worldleading chemical company. Its portfolio ranges from chemicals, plastics, performance products and agricultural products to oil and gas.
