Level measurement in hygienic applications
For submersible pumps in cryogenic applications
The white paper reports on an investigation into the use of electronic flow meters in high-speed batching processes
Research project for sensor systems for extremely harsh environments
In Germany, 55 percent of final energy consumption goes towards heating and cooling. However, a lot of heat dissipates unused because it is not generated as and when required. Thermal storage using zeolite material allows heat to be stored for long periods of time without losing any. Fraunhofer researchers are now working on significantly improving the thermal conductivity of zeolites.
AS-Schneider valves are being successfully used at the Amal oilfield in Oman which uses steam generated at the Miraah solar thermal facility. Steam injection is a common enhanced oil recovery method.
An interview with Mark Pontin, Managing Director at Resolve Optics Ltd. The company specialises in design, development and manufacture of custom lenses and optical modules.
Compact D3 and M4 housing with a large switching distance
Investment of roughly 46 million Euros in production of level and pressure measurement technology
Bluetooth remote access with tablet or smartphone
Easy-to-disassemble single- and twin-screw feeders
UK-based industrial consortium commences field trials for low-cost, sustainable inspection in hazardous environments using robotics for non-destructive testing system
For use with conductive and non-conductive liquids in a wide range of processes
The world is going digital - this applies to our private lives as well as to large parts of our work. In the process industries, the focus is often on end-to-end digital engineering, the analysis of big data, or the utilization of legacy data. But in what way can digitalization change daily work routines and increase work efficiency? A practical example is provided by the specialty chemicals company Lanxess, which has abandoned the classic clipboard, thus demonstrating very clearly what digitalization actually means and what benefits it offers.
We interviewed Andreas Hennecke, Pepperl+Fuchs Product Marketing Manager and Ambassador for Ethernet-APL about the development and possibilities of Ethernet-APL for the process industry.
Reliable 24/7 access to oil-free compressed air is essential in the food industry. Regardless of the application, all machines must be sanitary to avoid potential contamination
Enabling 2D vision sensors for complex sorting and quality inspection tasks
Endress+Hauser and Hahn-Schickard have partnered to establish Endress+Hauser BioSense GmbH based in Freiburg, Germany. The goal of the new company is to enable rapid, on-site molecular analyses for the detection of bacterial or viral contaminations.
For safe manucfaturing processes without foreign bodies
Remote electronic transmission of the measured values via a 4...20 mA output signal with 2-wire technology
Accurate measurement and control of liquids at very low flow rates
Small sliding gate control valve with diaphragm actuator and integrated, digital positioner
Monitoring flow in thin flexible pipelines
Low-wear positioning system for linear and rotary movements
For testing of up to 16 ports simultaneously
AIMPLAS coordinated the European LIFE ECOMETHYLAL Project, which has ended with the construction of a plant capable of extracting up to half a kilo of methylal from each kilo of non-recyclable waste. Methylal can be used as a solvent and as a raw material to produce new plastics. The project focused on recovering waste, mainly from the automotive, electrical and electronic, and packaging sectors, by means of chemical recycling.
Compact level transmitter with IO-Link connectivity especially designed for food & beverage applications
Thermal dispersion mass flow monitoring for dry seal centrifugal gas compressors
Compact measuring devices with smaller process connections for the pharmaceutical industry
For level and pressure monitoring applications
While the wheels of industry need to keep turning to produce the everyday items that we take for granted, there is a growing realization that this cannot be done at the continuing expense of the environment.
“Size changeover” is not necessarily a term that immediately makes people stop and pay attention in the pharmaceutical industry. However, considering the challenges in pharmaceutical manufacturing, which are characterized by cost and competitive pressure as well as strict regulations, intelligent size changeover means competitive advantages in terms of efficiency, product quality and process reliability.
Safe and precise delivery of ammonia solution into static mixers
Replacement for hydraulic cylinders and long hydraulic pipe installations
Efficient and economic separation of hydrogen and natural gas with membrane technology
Size matters – particularly in competitive markets such as pharma and nutraceuticals due to its direct result on costs. Tradichems patented Hipering® process begins right at the start of the process chain by miniaturizing the ingredients. Thanks to Piab’s piFLOW®p vacuum conveyor their patented process is continuously fed thus maintaining the required pressure level.
The increasing variety and complexity of parenteral drugs calls for new dimensions in quality assurance. Fully automated inspection technology with a combination of visual inspection and container closure integrity testing (CCIT) offers the highest product and hence patient safety. Pharmaceutical manufacturer CDM Lavoisier decided to change their inspection processes for no less than 30 products in four different packaging formats. They are now all inspected on the new AIM 3000 from Syntegon.
Reliable, easy-to-maintain and energy efficient pumps
Vision can be deployed in a number of different ways on a food processing line to tell if food is safe to eat and meets the quality standards demanded by retailers. Now the kind of hyperspectral technology that NASA has used to study planets and plant life is being applied to the food that ends up on household plates.
