    Directional horn

Extending its range of signalling devices for hazardous areas, R. STAHL introduces the Yodalex line of warning devices which includes a high-performance directional horn type YO9. This unit features a two-stage alarm with a high sound output of 115 dB at a one meter distance and an independently selectable second stage. The sound selection comprises 32 interna-tionally recognised tones, which can be set via a five-way DIL switch.

The unit’s enclosure is made of lightweight GRP finished in durable red paint; the horn’s flare is made of a tough, durable ABS. The YO9 series is ATEX and IECEx-approved for use in zones 1, 2, 21, and 22 gas and dust. Moreover, the devices are certified for marine use. They are suitable for a -20 to 60°C temperature range; or for a -60 to 60°C temperature range on request. In addition to models for 24 and 48VDC operation, an AC unit requiring a 115 or 230VAC supply is available. The product includes an adjustable stainless steel mounting bracket, two 20mm gland entries ensuring ease of installation and facilitating parallel connection of several devices, with certified stopper plugs and dust covers preserving the high IP66 protection class. All Yodalex products comply with CSA and IECEx as well as the North American UL, Canadian CUL, European ATEX, and Russian GOST-R specifications, thereby offering certification on a global basis.
